Dustin Pike Girly Challenge

I really like Dustin Pike images.  I didn't discover him until his stamps came to High Hopes.  Of course, I was new to the stamping world and just into Stampin' Up, High Hopes and Wiff of Joy.  Since then there are so many new companies and so many wonderful stamps I have discovered.  Still, I enjoy Dustin Pike's whimsical images.  There is a challenge on his blog for a Girly Card.
As a mom of boys, I need images that work for all the men in my life and their friends.  My boys do not dig girly cards.  So when my youngest was invited to a birthday party for one of the girls in his grade, he did not want to give a girly card.  I made this one, but he said that that one can come from us.  I had made it because the invitation she sent was pink and black.  It was a Paris theme.  Very pretty.
He had another design in mind.
Yes.  It says "U  R  A  monster".  :-)  Yes.  He is my little turd.  The girl is a very sweet girl.  I adore her.  He has a like/hate relationship with her.  It is quite hilarious actually.  He allowed me to keep the pink/black theme but the image was not to be girly.  I think it is still girly.  Don't tell him I said that.
This is High Hopes Willy One Eye illustrated by Dustin Pike.   It is embossed on watercolor paper and colored with Twinkling H2Os.
I put some glaze on his eye, tongue and spits to make it stand out.
Other card details:  Letter Stamps - SU Best Friends Lowercase; Base - SU Pink Piroutte;  the Black paper is SU Basic Black emossed with Swiss Dots folder with the Cuttlebug; Buttons - PTI Sweet Blush.

High Hopes Challenge Dots and Stripes

High Hopes is has a new challenge - #167 Dots and Stripes.  I happen to have a card to share with you that fits right in!
This is Baby Dragon.  He is absolutely precious!  I enjoyed coloring him.  He is just so stinkin' cute!
So the dots are on the blue paper which is from SU Itty Bitty Backgrounds and I guess you could say the green paper looks like dots.  I embossed the paper with my Cuttlebug and the mesh texture folder.  Stripes - Does plaid count as stripes?  I mean - there are vertical and horizontal stripes, right? :-) That paper is from DCWV All About Boy.
Other card details:  Base - PTI Orange Zest; Button - PTI Orange Zest; Twine - Divine Twine Green Apple

Mini Easter Baskets

Thought I would change it up and be on time for a holiday post! :-)

I made some little Easter baskets to give the the wonderful ladies I work with.  It all started with a bag of Starburst Jelly Beans.  I saw, I bought, I crafted.  There are lots of pics so please keep scrolling...
These are baskets that I bought from the Dollar Tree.  They are in the wedding section.  They are perfect for something light like jelly beans or small treats.  If you plan on putting anything heavier in it, consider using a heavy weight cardstock.  These baskets are a bit flimsy.  They are perfect for these little treats.  Although the cardstock wrapped around it make it a little more sturdy.
The paper for all the baskets comes from DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies stack.
The ribbon on this basket is SU.
This cross and sentiment stamp is from Clear Dollar Stamps Jesus Paid it All (which I think is only available as a digi now.
I used different twine from both The Twinery and Divine Twine for some of the baskets as well.
This is daisy I won from a challenge!!!

The charms are from Stamp and Create.

The brads in the middle of the big flowers are from The Eyelet Outlet.

The following pic shows the little bag of jelly beans tied with twine.  I added some pretty shredded paper also from the Dollar Tree to the bottom of the baskets to lift up and steady the bag of jelly beans.
And here is a pic of all the cute baskets together.
Super easy and super quick and super cute!

I was so torn as to whether I wanted to submit this card or not.  I liked it but I thought it was simple.  Well, most of my cards are CAS.  So I didn't know what my issue was.  :-) I think I was nervous because it was my first challenge.  :-)

Clowning Around

I just wanted to share that I was super honored to be invited to be a "Guest Bar-tender" with Raise the Bar!  I enjoy their challenges.  They have some good ones.  Their last challenge was in honor of National Carnival day.  I had no stamps that covered that one.  I knew my friend Lacey did!  She let me use her stamps because she is that awesome!
This is Juggles from High Hopes.  I generally don't really care for clowns.  Besides Ronald McDonald, I can pretty much pass on them.  But I think this guy is awesome.  I actually have a friend who has a big phobia against clowns - so I'm thinking this card is going to her.  Hahahaha!  Yes I am that evil.  :-) Ok - not evil - a prankster. :-)
Sorry about the lighting.  It was dark and I had to use flash.
Card deets: Base - PTI Orange Zest; DP - DCWV All Boys; Balloon Brads - to be honest, I cannot remember where I got them from because I have had them for years and years and yearss.  I do know that Eyelet Outlet has some super cute balloon brads.  The twine is from The Twinery (Denim & Mandarin).
