Stuffed with Blessings

Can you believe it's almost fall of this year already?????
Christmas is only ___ amount of days away.
I don't really know how many days away Christmas is.  I don't even want to think about it yet! :-)  Too soon.  Not ready.  Nope.
September 1 is just around the corner.  Holy cow!

I have a fall card to share with you.
This stamp is from High Hopes called Guard Duty Rudy.  It doesn't look like he's very effective at his job.  That's okay.  He's just too stinkin' cute.  I've owned this stamp for a very long while.  This is the first time I've inked him up though.
He is stamped onto watercolor paper and colored with Twinklin' H2Os.
 Other card details:
Base - PTI Pinefeather
DP - Recollections Comic Heroes
Yellow circle - stash
Pears - Basic Gray

The sentiment is one I made.  You can download it here.

Wags 'n Whiskers Challenge: Back to School/For a Teacher

Hey there!  Another challenge at Wags 'n Whiskers is going on.
It is "Back to School/For a Teacher".

Make a card for a teacher or child or anyone going back to school.  I'm sure there are quite a bit of you out there that are sending yourselves or your kids back to school. Make them a card!  Or make the teacher a card.

Or just be mean - like me - and remind them that summer is over!
Muahahahaha (say it in the evil laugh way).  It sounds cooler. :-)

**Please read all of the rules at the top of the blog**
One lucky participant will win a free Wags 'n Whiskers Rubber stamp!
You don't have to use a Wags 'n Whiskers image on your card, but if you do, you will be entered into a 2nd drawing for a free Wags 'n Whiskers Digi.

Here is my card:
This card has the sweet "Say a Prayer" stamp.  I have used this one very often.  Like I have said before, very versatile.  She is stamped and embossed onto watercolor paper and colored with Twinling H2Os.

I also used an old sketch from My Favorite Things #MFTWSC182.  I like using sketches when my mojo needs inspiration.  I usually have colors picked out and even the papers.  Where I want it on the card is usually what takes me forever.  My Favorite Things have all their sketches on their blog.
On her wings you can see that I've added stickles for that extra little sparkle.
 Other card details:
Base:  PTI Pure Poppy
DP: retired SU Summer Picnic
Cabochon: SU Vintage Flowers
Sentiment: I made it.  You can download it here.

I made two cards.  One for my friend's girls who are two blond cuties and the brunette one for my niece.
Thanks for hanging out with me.

Sweets and Monkeys

I just made this birthday card with the High Hopes stamp - Cherry Chip Chimp.  This image is so cute.  He is drawn by Dustin Pike.  I have used this stamp quite a few times.  Here is another time I've used it.  There were more times but I don't have pictures of those cards.  It was usually a quick card I had to whip up for a birthday.
Chimp is stamped and embossed onto watercolor paper and colored with Twinklin' H2Os.
Base: PTI Poppy
Blue DP: Joann's
Red DP and Lt. Blue cardstock: my stash

My Favorite Kind of Glitter

Seriously...glitter.  It's gets everywhere.  If you have visited my blog before, you know my hate/love relationship with glitter.  It started when I began working at a preschool.  Those little ones get glitter in places you didn't even know they could get them...of course, the days we worked with glitter would be the days I always had some kind of errand to run right after work.  So I had glitter on my face, my eyelid, my shirt, my pants....
Try cleaning that mess up.  Hateful, hateful craft item...
But...I like the way it looks.  It adds a nice element to your project.  But...it's a hateful item.
In comes that wonderful item - Stickles!  Stickles does not offend me at all.  I can add glitter and sparkle without the evil mess.  If only they made Stickles in huge bottles that are preschool friendly...
This is a card I made for my mother in law to give to someone who had just had a baby girl.  The stamp I used is a Whimsy stamp called Angel Angie.  She is embossed onto water color paper and watercolored with Twinkling H2Os.  I added Stickles to her angel wings.
Base and Matte: SU Blush Blossom
Cloud DP: SU Whisper White embossed with Darice Cloudy Sky
Ribbon: Dollar Tree
Jewels on the string with the Star and Pearls: Queen & Co.
On the picture below you can see the Stickles better on the wings/feather and the stars.  I also added a teeny amount of glaze on the ladybug.

Wags 'n Whiskers Challenge: Polka Dots

It's time for a new challenge at Wag 'n Whiskers!
Polka Dots!  So easy! Polka Dots.  I mean, who doesn't own paper with polka dots?  And if you don't - you can draw - or even better - stamp some of your own polka dots.  Big or little dots.  Any dots.
Ok - I'm done.  ;-)
Make sure you read the challenge rules that are posted at the
top of the Wags 'n Whiskers blog.
One lucky participant will win a free Wags ‘nWhiskers Rubber Stamp!

You don’t have to use a Wags ‘n Whiskers image on your card, but if you do, you will be entered into a 2nd drawing for a free Wags ‘n Whiskers Digi!

Onto my cards:
To be honest, I started making these cards for the Fancy Folds challenge.  I had the entire concept in my head and I had already stamped and colored my image.  I just never finished the card because I went out of town.  The picture above is taken with the cards lying down so that you can see how it's supposed to look when it's closed.  The picture below is taken with the cards standing up.  On the outside you can see the little conversation bubbles.  Those were printed on SU Whisper White and then I cut them out.
The picture below you can see how it looks opened up.
I used the stamp Hey Grandma.  So very cute!
The next two pics shows a closer pic of the stamp:

I stamped him onto watercolor paper and colored with Twinkling H2Os.  I then carefully cut him out.
Card details:
Base - SU Cherry Cobbler
DP - SU Polka Dot Parade
Jewels - SU
The "What's Up?" sentiment I made.  You can download it here.

Super Simple Birthday Wishes

Super simple cards for birthdays are good to have on hand.  Maybe you don't really know the person but really want to give them a handmade card...or maybe you want to make a bunch to package together to give as a gift.
Here is one idea for a simple layout you can make quickly:
If you scroll down through the pictures you can see two versions with the same layout but different colors.  Just a small detail changes.
 Card details:
Lace - Dollar Tree
Sentiment - Studio G stamped onto SU Whisper White
(the shape is a PDC shaplie cut with my Silhouette)
The flowers from the card above and below are ones that I crocheted but can easily be replaced with a paper flower.  I sat down watching TV one day and crocheted a whole bunch at a time in different colors so that I would have them on hand when I needed them.
The metal flower is a spacer I bought from Stamp and Create attached with a brad from my stash.
The only difference with this card is the DP is done using SU Rose Red and the flower has a button from PTI Pure Poppy attached with black twine.

Thanks for hanging out with me!
I am adding these to the following challenges:
Stamp and Create Challenge: Birthdays
Milk Coffee Challenge: Birthday
Inky Chicks: Happy Birthday
Glitter n Sparkle: Birthday

W&W Challenge: Anything Goes

***We have a design team call at Wags 'n Whiskers!  Go check out the details on the blog.***

Summer brings lazy days...for some people anyway.  My summer has been stinkin' busy.
We have done some home remodel/organization and we traveled to New York.  Going to New York was nice...home improvements...not so much.  I mean, it's nice.  We have nice new rugs in the bedrooms and some nice furniture pieces we got from Ikea.  I got a new desk.  I'm really excited about that.  I also got some modular cubes from the Recollections collection at Michael's.  (I will share pix as soon as I'm satisfied with how I want it.)  We have been able to purge lots of things that we have been accumulating in our home for the 14 years we've lived here.  I like purging.
It's just that it has been a long process of moving everything out of our rooms and then moving everything back.  Really, I'm not complaining.  It is totally worth it.  It's just that all that pretty much took most of June. :-)
Aaaaand - I have not been able to read as much as I would like.  So there's that.  I love to read.  I read The Fault in Our Stars on our way to New York.  (Am I the only one that did NOT give that book 5 stars?  I was not that impressed with it.)
Onto the challenge and card:
Wags 'n Whiskers is having an Anything Goes Challenge! Yaaaaaaaayyyyy!
I know that is everyone's favorite challenge.
Make sure you read the challenge rules that are posted at the
top of the Wags 'n Whiskers blog.
One lucky participant will win a free Wags ‘n Whiskers Rubber Stamp!

You don’t have to use a Wags ‘n Whiskers image on your card, but if you do, you will be entered into a 2nd drawing for a free Wags ‘n Whiskers Digi!

I like this stamp so much just because of the fact that the girl is reading!
She is doing my favorite thing (other than crafting...obviously).
This is a digi stamp called Bedtime Story.  It is also available as a rubber stamp.  I printed it onto watercolor paper and colored with Twinkling H2Os.
Other card details:
Base - SU So Saffron
Red DP - My stash
Words DP - PTI Background Basics Text Style stamped onto SU So Saffron
Twine - The Twinery Solid Denim
Key - Michaels
The "storybooks" word art is from Ginger's House.
She has a fantastic site with free word art.  Go give her some love!

I used the same image and used three different elements and sentiments.
For all of the cards:
Image used: Scootin' By digi (She is also available as a rubber stamp).  She is stamped onto watercolor paper and colored with Twinkling H2O's.
She is popped up with dimensionals by Stampin' Up.
Base: PTI Orange Zest
DP: K & Company
Buttons: PTI Orange Zest
Kraft Paper: PTI embossed with Cuttlebug Bloom Dots
Now for the sentiment on each card.
Twine:  The Twinery Lemondrop
This card has Prima flowers with spacers from Stamp and Create held together by yellow brads.

The sentiment I made.  It can be found here.
For this card the flowers are also Primas but it's held down with Eyelet Outlet's Orange Rhinestone brads.

This sentiment can be found here.
The flowers on this card I found at the Dollar Tree a long time ago.  Super cute.  They are felt and the already came with the bling.

The Just roll with it sentiment can be found here.
