Fairy Inspiration

Hey there my fellow crafters!
It's time for another Wags 'n Whiskers Challenge!  I just have to say that I am very honored and blessed to be a part of such an amazing and talented group of crafters that are in the Wags 'n Whiskers Design Team.  They are so awesome!  Go check out their craft skills!
This challenge is the Photo Inspiration of the W&W logo.
Make sure you read the challenge rules that are posted at the
top of the Wags 'n Whiskers blog.
One lucky participant will win a free Wags ‘n Whiskers Rubber Stamp!
You don’t have to use a Wags ‘n Whiskers image on your card, but if you do, you will be entered into a 2nd drawing for a free Wags ‘n Whiskers Digi!

Here is my card:
This cute fairy is a digi called Iris.  You can also get her as a rubber stamp.  She looks so relaxed.  Wouldn't it be just awesome if you could summon a hummingbird?
I printed her onto watercolor paper and colored with Twinkling H2Os.
Base: SU Very Vanilla
DP: DCWV Mariposa Stack
Matte: SU Baja Breeze
Metal: SU
Ribbon: My Stash
Jewel: Taylored Expressions

Being on a Design Team you, of course, get to know a challenge weeks ahead of time so that you can prepare for a post.  I made this card a while ago, knowing that I could give it to anyone.
I gave this card to my friend, Amy, today.  Her mom is not doing well.  My heart hurts for her.  We can pray for a miracle.  We can pray for God's will to be done.  I often tell people that Amy has a direct line to God.  She is such a strong, thoughtful, powerful Christian woman, mom and friend.  She makes me want to strive to be better.  I sometimes use her as a confessional or as a buffer before I make decisions.  She loves me with all my flaws.  She takes care of everyone around her.  When I say that this woman is loved - she is loved by all who meet her.  She is genuine.  And now she's hurting and all of us around her find ourselves at a loss for how to help her.  We have been making meals for her and her family.  That is definitely something we do.  Still...
If you are the praying kind, pray.  Not just for her, or her family...pray for everyone you know who is hurting around you.  Pray for yourself if you are hurting.  Pray for the people that are happy.  We have to pray and thank God for our blessings too.  Pray for the people who have suffered loss and for the people who have a new blessing to call their own.  Pray for the family you love - and even the ones that drive you crazy.  Pray.
Gracias for taking the time to hang out with me.

C is for Chocolate Creams

I almost missed the date for posting my card to the ABC Christmas Challenge.  As I said before, my goal is to participate in every challenge.  I will definitely end up with more Christmas cards than I need but that is okay.  As long as I have enough, I won't need to make so many the following year.  I can probably even make a set for someone as a gift.  Who knows?
This challenge is C is for Chocolate Creams.
Here is my card:
This guy is called Snow Yummy from High Hopes.  He is chillin' like a villain!
He is embossed onto watercolored paper and colored with Twinkling H2Os.
Base: SU Soft Suede
DP: SU Christmas Cocoa (retired)
Matte: SU Riding Hood Red
Button: PTI Scarlet
Twine: The Twinery Solid Natural
Glitter: Joann's
The "Just Chillin'..." sentiment I created and you can download it here.

April 2014 Planner Pages

I have complete April 2014 pages!
I did change some things though thanks to a suggestion by Regena.  Her suggestion actually made sense to me and I think it will work more for me.  I made the "To Do" section a bit bigger than the time section.  I found that I didn't need that much space for my appts but my writing on the  to do list took up more room.  I added a blank space before and after the times to allow for those of you whose days start earlier.  My day does start earlier than 7am but I don't write any of it down because it is automatic - but why limit myself.  I know I have had to get up for 6am events before (ie travelling, school functions).  I did leave the "Prayers" part because that is something that I definitely find myself working on in my continuous walk with Christ - so it is a reminder for me.  But I added "Thoughts" because I sometimes like to add quick reflection of my day.
What do you think?
Here are the details for the printables:  These fit in a Classic sized Franklin Covey Planner or DayTimer.  They print out on 8.5 x 11 paper, double-sided and cut in half.
This is a free printable for your personal use - NOT for sale.  If you share this with others please direct them or link back to my blog.  I appreciate it greatly!

You Had Me at Meow!!

I joined the Sassy Studio Designs Facebook page.
I have always admired the digis.  I actually have a decent sized wish list.  I have to have $$ first.  You know how that goes... us crafters can basically go broke with the things we "want".
I made the following card for my hunny - as a Non-Valentine.  We joke about Valentine's being just any other day.
Valentine's day he went camping with my boys.  So he received the card when he got back.
This sexy little thing is called Pin Up Cat.  She puts Catwoman to shame!
Base: PTI Pure Poppy
Black DP: MME Chalk Studio
Bling: These are from Stampin' Up which I've had forever
Washi Tape: I got this from Michael's a year ago.
I made my own sentiment.  You can download it here.
Challenges I'm linking up to:
Sassy Studio Designs: Valentine's Day
Stamp and Create: Love is in the Air
Oldie but a Goodie: Valentine
Ladybug Crafts Ink: For the the one I love

B is for Bare Essentials

One of my goals this year is to complete all my Christmas cards early.  I want to play with every single challenge on the ABC Christmas Challenge blog.  I don't care if I win anything.  I just want to not be stressed at the end of the stinkin' year.  I will, of course, still have projects (ie for teachers and friends) but my cards WILL be done!!!!
I finished these cards three days ago but I, just now, am able to add them to my blog before the B is for Bare Essentials challenge is over.
Here it is:
This tree is not from a stamp.  It is actually a graphic from the DP from DCWV Christmas stack.  There are three Christmas trees on a page so I just cut one out, distressed it, and added some ink to make it look even more aged.  I added it to a PTI Pinefeather cardstock base.  I then, included a sentiment from SU More Merry Messages.  Super easy.
It still looked kind of plain to me.  And even though I'm supposed to keep it "Bare".  I thought it could use some bling.
These are some "orangey" looking gems I found at AC Moore.  I think it adds a nice touch.  Super easy and super quick.
I had a total of six trees so I was able to make six cards.  Awesome!
