Birthday Butterfly Card and Notebook

My friend's daughter had a birthday and my niece, Alana, was invited.  She wanted to make her a card and she wanted me to make a card and a gift as well.  She wanted to pick out the papers for it.  We started with the notebook - which is a simple composition book.
Alana insisted on picking out the paper.  We scrolled through her stash of scrapbook paper that I had given her.  She ended up picking the one above.  I apologize but I do not know what brand name the paper.
I covered the notebook and then we tried to figure out how we were going to decorated the front.  We decided on that fancy "L" you see on the front that I cut with my Silhouette.
We added some flowers and a butterfly made from Modge Podge Melts.  I hand-stitched the bookmark from some ribbon, a PTI button, and a small rubber band.
Next is the card:
This is Flutter Anya from The Greeting Farm.  She is stamped onto watercolor paper and colored with Twinkling H2Os.
 Other card details:
Card Base:  SU Elegant Eggplant
DP: I cannot remember the company.  I believe it might be My Mind's Eye.
Jewels: Queen & Co.
Ribbon:  I bought that awesome ribbon at a yard sale.  It's a super huge roll!
Birthday Wishes stamp: Studio G.
You can't really tell from the pics but I added Stickles to the wings.

Bold and Bright

What?  Two posts in one day?  Yup yup - I'm on a roll.  :-)  I have had some time to sit at the computer and do nothing so I thought I would catch up on some challenges and blog posts.  I might get one more follower.  Ha!
Stamp and Create has a monthly challenge.  The challenge for June is: Bold and Bright.  I can do that.  I thought this project would be perfect because it is not only bold and bright, it is also cheery!
I seriously enjoy making these notebooks.  It is a bit time comsuming even though it is very easy.  I have the Cinch.  I bought mine on sale at Hobby Lobby but they also have it at Joann's, Michael's and AC Moore.  I'm sure they have it at any local craft store.  It is so simple.
You know how every year, on your child's supply list, they have composition books.  Then, when the end of the year comes they send home those same composition books with only 5 pages written in them.  I am positive the teacher has good intentions when starting these books.  They have these ideals of the perfect journal.  I know.  I am a teacher.  Unfortunately, things happen and you get a composition book with only five pages written in it.  Of course you can't rip those pages out and reuse it the next year because of how it is it bound.  Once you rip pages out it ruins the integrity of the binding.
I take those composition books with those perfectly new pages and make these notebooks.  I break up the binding and cut the pages all the same size.  You definitely need a big paper slicer, otherwise it will take forever.  I use the front and back cover of the same composition book and cover it with DP.  In this case I used paper from DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies Stack.  I should've taken a pic of the notebook opened up.  I forgot - sorry.
I used ribbon scraps on the binding.  (Don't throw away those scraps!  They are good for small things like this!)  I will post a pic one day of how I store my scraps.  I have a ribbon obsession.  I have lots and lots of ribbon.  How many of you out there are the same way? Ha!
Obviously this was for my friend, Amy.  The letters are SU Defining Alphabet.  The half pearls around the name is from Queen & Co. (grass green) that I got from AC Moore.
The stamp, Wags and Whiskers Angel Whispers, was embossed on watercolor paper and colored with Twinkling H2Os.  I don't know if you can notice the dog.  I covered the dog in white fun flock.  It's pretty cool in real life.  Fuzzy.  In the girl's hair is another half pearl in Orchid from Queen & Co.
Gracias for hanging out with me!

**Edited to add:  I did have a pic of the inside!  I didn't forget after all.  I just didn't notice it when I added them to my post.  Here it is:

Composition Books

I am a paper addict. Seriously. I have a fascination with scrapbook paper... and I shouldn't because I really don't have any more room for any more stinking paper. LOL! So, I went to Joann's and they had the DCWV paper stacks on sale... and my friend's daughter had a birthday...inspiration!

I am going to enter this in the Wags and Whiskers Challenge "Pop it up". I didn't really want to use dimensionals on this since it will be used to write in so I added a flower. I hope that counts as a pop up. I also added small little "pops" on the back... read on.

I really like composition books. They are easy to cover, look really cool and are easy to personalize. I had bought small composition books at Target during the after school sale. They came in a little package 2 for $0.50. Of course, I bought a whole bunch. :-) I used some paper from DCWV Flower Shower Spring Stack. Really cute glittery paper.

The Stamp is Wags and Whiskers Happy Day colored in Twinkling H2Os. So cute! I kind of freehand measured everything and added a ribbon I found from the dollar spot at Target to hold the pen. I put some of the same DP in the inside of the RSVP pen. Easy! The following is the back:

I cut my friends' daughter's name with my Cricut and added Taylor's Tiny Twinkles to the name.

The next one is the basically the same concept except I used the stamp Bedtime Story from Wags and Whiskers.

Of course, my son Gabriel (who is 9) is fascinated with any art projects. He's always painting, coloring, etc. He is dying to use my Twinkling H2Os... not sure if I'm ready for that yet. Anyway, he saw me making the composition books and wanted me to make one for him.

I used the High Hopes stamp Time Well Spent. He really likes this stamp because he says it looks like him and our chocolate lab fishing in the backyard. He wanted me to paint them with the Twinkling H2Os.
He wanted to write his own name on the back. OK. What could I say?
Anyway, thanks so much for looking!
