Wags 'n Whiskers Challenge: Polka Dots

It's time for a new challenge at Wag 'n Whiskers!
Polka Dots!  So easy! Polka Dots.  I mean, who doesn't own paper with polka dots?  And if you don't - you can draw - or even better - stamp some of your own polka dots.  Big or little dots.  Any dots.
Ok - I'm done.  ;-)
Make sure you read the challenge rules that are posted at the
top of the Wags 'n Whiskers blog.
One lucky participant will win a free Wags ‘nWhiskers Rubber Stamp!

You don’t have to use a Wags ‘n Whiskers image on your card, but if you do, you will be entered into a 2nd drawing for a free Wags ‘n Whiskers Digi!

Onto my cards:
To be honest, I started making these cards for the Fancy Folds challenge.  I had the entire concept in my head and I had already stamped and colored my image.  I just never finished the card because I went out of town.  The picture above is taken with the cards lying down so that you can see how it's supposed to look when it's closed.  The picture below is taken with the cards standing up.  On the outside you can see the little conversation bubbles.  Those were printed on SU Whisper White and then I cut them out.
The picture below you can see how it looks opened up.
I used the stamp Hey Grandma.  So very cute!
The next two pics shows a closer pic of the stamp:

I stamped him onto watercolor paper and colored with Twinkling H2Os.  I then carefully cut him out.
Card details:
Base - SU Cherry Cobbler
DP - SU Polka Dot Parade
Jewels - SU
The "What's Up?" sentiment I made.  You can download it here.
Thanks for hanging out with me.

Super Simple Birthday Wishes

Super simple cards for birthdays are good to have on hand.  Maybe you don't really know the person but really want to give them a handmade card...or maybe you want to make a bunch to package together to give as a gift.
Here is one idea for a simple layout you can make quickly:
If you scroll down through the pictures you can see two versions with the same layout but different colors.  Just a small detail changes.
 Card details:
Lace - Dollar Tree
Sentiment - Studio G stamped onto SU Whisper White
(the shape is a PDC shaplie cut with my Silhouette)
The flowers from the card above and below are ones that I crocheted but can easily be replaced with a paper flower.  I sat down watching TV one day and crocheted a whole bunch at a time in different colors so that I would have them on hand when I needed them.
The metal flower is a spacer I bought from Stamp and Create attached with a brad from my stash.
The only difference with this card is the DP is done using SU Rose Red and the flower has a button from PTI Pure Poppy attached with black twine.

Thanks for hanging out with me!
I am adding these to the following challenges:

W&W Challenge: Anything Goes

***We have a design team call at Wags 'n Whiskers!  Go check out the details on the blog.***

Summer brings lazy days...for some people anyway.  My summer has been stinkin' busy.
We have done some home remodel/organization and we traveled to New York.  Going to New York was nice...home improvements...not so much.  I mean, it's nice.  We have nice new rugs in the bedrooms and some nice furniture pieces we got from Ikea.  I got a new desk.  I'm really excited about that.  I also got some modular cubes from the Recollections collection at Michael's.  (I will share pix as soon as I'm satisfied with how I want it.)  We have been able to purge lots of things that we have been accumulating in our home for the 14 years we've lived here.  I like purging.
It's just that it has been a long process of moving everything out of our rooms and then moving everything back.  Really, I'm not complaining.  It is totally worth it.  It's just that all that pretty much took most of June. :-)
Aaaaand - I have not been able to read as much as I would like.  So there's that.  I love to read.  I read The Fault in Our Stars on our way to New York.  (Am I the only one that did NOT give that book 5 stars?  I was not that impressed with it.)
Onto the challenge and card:
Wags 'n Whiskers is having an Anything Goes Challenge! Yaaaaaaaayyyyy!
I know that is everyone's favorite challenge.
Make sure you read the challenge rules that are posted at the
top of the Wags 'n Whiskers blog.
One lucky participant will win a free Wags ‘n Whiskers Rubber Stamp!

You don’t have to use a Wags ‘n Whiskers image on your card, but if you do, you will be entered into a 2nd drawing for a free Wags ‘n Whiskers Digi!

I like this stamp so much just because of the fact that the girl is reading!
She is doing my favorite thing (other than crafting...obviously).
This is a digi stamp called Bedtime Story.  It is also available as a rubber stamp.  I printed it onto watercolor paper and colored with Twinkling H2Os.
Other card details:
Base - SU So Saffron
Red DP - My stash
Words DP - PTI Background Basics Text Style stamped onto SU So Saffron
Twine - The Twinery Solid Denim
Key - Michaels
The "storybooks" word art is from Ginger's House.
She has a fantastic site with free word art.  Go give her some love!
