May Hope Sustain You

Some of the reasons that us papercrafters make cards, 3D objects, or scrapbook layouts is to bring a smile to face of the recipient, to give something personal, to feel calm (I find it calming to craft), as well as to get whatever sketch or idea out of my head.  :-)
One of those times that I don't particularly like is making Sympathy cards.  It makes me sad.  It means someone I love is hurting.  I still want to give a card.  I pray that the words in it touch their hearts.  It still makes me sad.
I made two cards in different colors but with the same layout.
 Card details:
Base - PTI White
Other paper - SU Basic Black; SU Pretty in Pink
Stamp: PTI With Sympathy stamped with Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder.
Pink Lace: Dollar Tree
The shape surrounding the words is a Shaplie from Penny Duncan Creations that was cut with my old Cricut.
The next card is the same layout but with different colors.
Base: PTI Winter Wisteria
Ribbon: You can't tell from the picture but it is white.  I found it at a yard sale.

I am entering these cards in the following challenges:
The Crafter's Cafe - Anything Goes
AudSentiments - With Sympathy
Crafty Ribbons Challenge - Anything Goes with Ribbon

It's a Photo Inspiration challenge.  Take a look at the photo:
Now be inspired! :-)

top of the Wags 'n Whiskers blog.
One lucky participant will win a free Wags ‘nWhiskers Rubber Stamp!

Here is my card:
Do you watch So You Think You Can Dance?  This stamp is what Mary Murphy would call a HOT TAMALE!  She is the Marilyn Digi.  I used the print and cut feature on my Silhouette!  SO COOL!  It's my first time using this feature and I was absolutely thrilled with the results!  I could not believe how awesome it cut out the image.  I will rarely cut out an image because it's time consuming.  I love the look but laziness will win.  This was effortless!
Marilyn was printed on watercolor paper and colored with Twinkling H2Os.
Other card details:
Base: SU Elegant Eggplant
DP: DCWV Taj Mahal
Jewels: Queen & Co.
The sentiment I have seen floating around everywhere and I loved it.  It's a statement for a strong woman!
I made this card for my friend for her birthday because she is that kind of strong!
I typed it up with some fancy fonts and printed it on SU Whisper White.
Be THAT kind of woman!
I'm entering this card onto the following challenges:

Film Strip

Hey there!  Good to virtually see you again!
I have a fun card for you today featuring some film strip.
If you remember using them, you have dated yourself.  And once again, so have I! :-)
I have to say that I loved those film strip canisters.  They seemed so grown up to me.  I loved opening them up and running them through the inside of the camera...always being careful to not let too much light in. :-)
I also don't miss them.  You know how many BAD pictures I took with those?!?!
And how much money I wasted?!?!  Hahaha!
I like the convenience of digital cameras with that wonderful option of "delete", as well as the fact that I only need to develop what I want.
This is a stamp set from the set ROFL Taglines from There She Goes Stamps.  That company has some very funny and super cute sets.  In case you can't read the sentiment - it says: "Everyone has a photographic memory...some just don't have film."  It was a "just because" card for a friend.
The main film strip was stamped and embossed on watercolor paper and colored with Twinkling H2Os.
Other card details:
Base - SU Basic Black
Film Strip background - smaller film case stamped onto SU Whisper White and also stamped with
PTI Background Basics: Text Style with a light pink ink.
Pink DP - my stash
Ribbon - SU
You can see the background words that were stamped a little better in the next pic.
I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Tuesday Throwdown - Anything Goes
Through the Craftroom Door - Anything Goes
The Crafter's Cafe - Anything Goes

I'm Batman!

Well, not me - but my husband seems to think he is!  Lol!
It's a running joke in our house.  We are very much into DC and Marvel Comics.  So of course we love all the movies they have made - even the not so good ones.  :-)
There was this episode of Big Bang Theory where Sheldon says he's Batman.  Here is the meme of the part of that episode.
Ever since we saw that episode, it has been a running joke in our house and now it has poured into their Boy Scout Troop!  They even say it in the "deep" voice. Hahahaha!  I also made him a shirt that he took with him to Boy Scout camp as a leader.  I will share that on a different day.
I made this card for our 15th Anniversary!  He may not be the real Batman but he is MY Batman! :-)
The stamp is from the The Greeting Farm Set Amazing Duo that I bought as Stamp and Create.  He is perfect colored up as Batman.  He is stamped on watercolor paper and colored with Twinkling H2Os.
Other card details:
DP: yellow and gray paper from Joann's
Black Netting: Stamp and Create
In the next pic, you can see his mask.  It's a separate stamp in the set.  I stamped it on black paper, cut it out, and added glaze to it.
I know the heart clip is a little odd for a superhero card but it was for my hunny, so it was perfect.  Its a clip also from SU.
The star sequins are from Joann's.  They had a pack with different sizes and colors of stars.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Yumi and Fumi Handmade: Card for any celebration (Anniversary)
The Crafter's Challenge: Anything Goes
The Squirrel and the Fox: Use something spooled (Netting)

Wags 'n Whiskers Challenge #108 Summer Fun

Summer, Summer, Summertime.... Let's just sit back and unwind...
Did you sing it?  If you did, then you have dated yourself.  Don't worry.  I did too.  :-)  That song by Will Smith was the JAM back in the day!
This brings me to the new Wags 'n Whiskers new challenge: #108 Summer Fun.
Make sure you read the challenge rules that are posted at the
top of the Wags 'n Whiskers blog.
One lucky participant will win a free Wags ‘n Whiskers Rubber Stamp!

You don’t have to use a Wags ‘n Whiskers image on your card, but if you do, you will be entered into a 2nd drawing for a free Wags ‘n Whiskers Digi!
This is actually the W&W digi Summer Fun.  I printed her onto watercolor paper and colored her with Twinkling H2Os.  She is enjoying her summer isn't she?
I added some sand to the bottom.  It is a gluey kind of sand called Malibu Beach from Mudd Puddles.  I bought it from a local scrapbook store called Pictures in Time almost three years ago.  I know the website is still up but I don't know if you can buy the products.  It's actually a really neat product.  It is sand but the glue is very flexible when it dries and doesn't weigh a lot.
Other card details:
DP: Splash by Bella Road
Summer Fun Stamp: Studio G
Jute: Joann's
The next card is the same but this little girl is just colored differently with brunette hair.

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

Through the Craft Room Door: Anything Goes
Challenges for Everybody: Anything Goes

Sparkling Flutterby and Flowers

Hey dear crafting friends!  I'm hanging out here in Sunny Florida...angry that this weather is so annoying!!!  The days I want to go to the beach - it rains.  The days that I just hang out at home - sunny and beautiful.  Whatever!!  You would think I would be used to it.  I'm not.  It's annoying.  I still went to the beach even with gray skies...and got a sunburn.  Again - whatever! Grrrr... :-) :-) :-) :-)
So onto things that make me happy...crafting!
This beauty is called Flutter Anya from TGF.  I have used her before plenty of times.  I love inking her up.  She just makes me happy.  She is embossed onto watercolor paper and colored with Twinkling H2Os.
I used Stickles glitter on her wings for that extra sparkly touch.  She just needed it.
 Other card details:
Base - SU Rose Red
DP - MME Totally Girl
Other paper - SU Pink Pirouette
"Feliz Cumpleanos" stamp - SU Felicidaded Siempre

Bridal Shower Favors Part 3 - Minions from Despicable Me

Despicable Me 2 came out today!!!! It was a cute, cute, cute movie.  I laughed quite a bit.  The Minions were absolutely hysterical.  Normally, I do not go to the movies right when it comes out because I don't like the crowds.  It was my niece's birthday, though, and that is what she wanted to do on her birthday.  She was so excited and has been talking about the movie for a while.
So in honor of Despicable Me 2 - here is the next installment of bridal shower favors.  If you want to see Part 1 (Lilo and Stitch favors), click here.  If you want to see Part 2 (Winnie the Pooh favors), click here.

When we were in the Dollar Tree, I showed my friend, Amy, these boxes (which are located in the wedding section of the store):
We were supposed to use them for the Lilo and Stitch favors until we saw the colorful take out boxes.  So Amy said, "It would be so cool if we could turn these boxes into Minions."
I said, "I could do that!"  So I did!
Here are my little Minions in all their glory!  I created the two different ones with double eyes and the single eye.  I created them on Sure Cuts Alot and cut them out with my Cricut (I now have a Silhouette).  I bought yellow paper from Joanns's.  The goggles are cut from silver cardstock from Papertrey Ink.
***Edited to add: I have added a cut file for the glasses here.***
***I have also created a generic tag here.***

You can kind of see the the silver shining on the side views.

We put Hershey's kisses in a silver bag tied with blue curling ribbon.
I designed the tag using a clipart and punched them out with a circle punch.
The inside of the box was filled with silver basket stuffing, also from the Dollar Tree.

It was fun creating these little guys.  It was more fun seeing the reactions of people when I showed it to them.  I was super pleased!
Gracias for hanging with me!
