Whose Kid is a Gamer?

Whose kid?  Raise your hands.  I see a few of you out there.  Yup yup yup.  I see so many of your guilty faces out there.  Don't worry.  My hand is up too.  Both my boys are, as well as my niece who is currently staying with us.  My youngest and my niece are Minecraft geeks.  My oldest is currently playing Skyrim.
If they could, they would play all day, every day.  Because they are on Christmas break, they are allowed to play on the weekdays.  During the school week they are not allowed to play Monday through Thursday.  I don't want them worried about not doing quality homework so that they can rush and play a video game.  I need them to concentrate on what is important.
My oldest had his 15th birthday.  Time flew by so fast.  One minute he was this cute, chunky baby - and the next, he is a head taller than me and growing out of his baby face.  Not fair. :-(
Here is the card I made him for his birthday:
This super cute guy is Boy Gamer by Kenny K for Whimsy Stamps.  He is so excited!  He totally reminds me of my boys when they play.
Card Details:
Boy Gamer - from Stamp and Create embossed onto Watercolor paper and colored with Twinkling H2Os.
Base - The Kenny K rubber stamps are pretty big. So my card is actually 5 1/2" by 5 1/2" cut from SU Pacific Point
DP - Joann's (Love that paper.  It has all the controllers from they new game consoles and the classic ones like the old Atari joystick and the Gameboys.)
Twine: The Twinery Denim wrapped around SU Whisper White
Stars:  These are kind of like sequin stars.  They came in a pack of all different colors from Joann's.

I am linking to the following challenges:

Minions Glasses SVG

Have you seen my Minions favors?
It's been pretty awesome because some of you out there in the digital world strolling through Pinterest have pinned my post about it a few times.  Thank you!  I'm thankful that you like them.
Now that I am getting used to posting files on blogspot, I figured out how to add the SVG to my blog.
I only have the svg for the glasses (single and double eyes), the white part and the pupil.  The black strip was just a skinny piece of black cardstock about 1/2 thick and measured to go around the box.  That also goes for the yellow cardstock.  I measured the cardstock and cut to fit.
Anyway, you can download the glasses svg here.
I hope it works and I hope you enjoy!
Just remember: This is a free file for your personal use - NOT for sale.  If you share this with others please direct them or link back to my blog.  I appreciate it greatly!

Wags 'n Whiskers Challenge: Christmas

Holidays are here!  Isn't it obvious????
I love the message of Christmas.  I love knowing that the kids know that baby Jesus came to us and how God had always has a plan.
I don't like the absolute commercialism of it all.
I do like that my boys and my niece get it.  Their Christmas list is not long.  (Well, my second son's kind of is but he was being funny with all the Minecraft stuff.)  I love using the technique from Emily and her FREE file for the kids' Christmas wish list.  They get it.  It's cool.
I don't like that Thanksgiving break was so late this year.  It threw off my time schedule.
The break was pretty awesome though.

I am sure a lot of you all have a love/not like relationship with the holidays as well.
To get into the Christmas spirit - Wags 'n Whiskers is having a Christmas challenge!.
Make sure you read the challenge rules that are posted at the
top of the Wags 'n Whiskers blog.
One lucky participant will win a free Wags ‘n Whiskers Rubber Stamp!

You don’t have to use a Wags ‘n Whiskers image on your card, but if you do, you will be entered into a 2nd drawing for a free Wags ‘n Whiskers Digi!
Here is my card:
To be honest, I like simpler cards for Christmas.  Something I can replicate easily, which usually means no coloring of a stamp.  I have done some Christmas cards that I  have colored but it's usually just one or two cards that I make like that.  I really liked how this turned out though, so I am making a few of them.
I am liking the look of the Spritz.  Its kind of funny because I know that I am late the party on that product.  I didn't want to buy any of it because I didn't think I would use it much.  Of course when something is on sale...that's a different story.  :-)
This is Say a Prayer.  She was embossed on watercolor paper and colored with Twinkling H2Os.  I added Stickles to her wings.  I cut her out and added her to a piece of SU Pink Pirouette with Smooch Spritz in Cherry Ice.
Other card details:
Base: SU Pink Piroutte
DP: Old retired SU paper called Christmas Cocoa
Ribbon: SU Pink Pirouette tied into that pretty bow with the Bow Easy
Sentiment: SU More Merry Messages
Bling: SU
Gracias for hanging out with me.
I hope you have a very blessed Christmas full of lots of love!

Bubble Kid - Wags 'n Whiskers Challenge: Cards for Kids

Don't you wish you had more time to craft?
Well, I actually had some time this weekend and then I got sucked into a book.  Didn't touch my laptop for a whole day because I wanted to finish my book.
Of course, I had laundry to do...but I wanted to finish reading my book! :-)
Wags 'n Whiskers has a new challenge: Cards for Kids!
Go make a card for any kid and link up to the W&W challenge.

Here is my card:
This card works for kids.  This particular card is for my friend.  She is a big kid.  Does that count?
This cutesy stamp is a digi called Bubble Fun.  You can also buy her as a rubber stamp.  She is printed onto watercolor paper and colored with Twinkling H2Os.  She is matted on SU Certainly Celery.  Right behind that matte is a piece of SU Bashful Blue that I spritzed with Pink Sprinkles Smooch Spritz.  I really like the "spritzed" look.  I also like saying "spritz".  Say it with me: Spritz.
On the pic below, you can see where I added some glaze to make the bubbles shiny and bubbly.
Other card details:
DP: DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies
Charm from Stamp and Create
Twine: The Twinery Solid Peapod and Shore

This challenge is to use Fall Colors.
Make sure you read the challenge rules that are posted at the

Here is my card for the challenge:
This card uses the stamp Bedtime Story.
I really enjoy reading.  If the story is good, I will obsess about reading it until it is done.  It can consume all my time.  I just finished reading the Divergent Series by Veronica Roth.  Books 1 and 2 were fabulous.  Book 3 made me want to throw the book across the room.  It was a good thing that it was my iPad so throwing was not an option.
I stamped her onto watercolor paper and colored with Twinkling H2Os.
The sentiment comes from Ginger's House.  She has a lot of sentiments perfect for so many cards.  She also has some funny stories.  I really liked this one - which is the post I got this sentiment from.  I literally laughed out loud!
Other card details:
Base: SU So Saffron
DP - K & Co.
Twine: Divine Twine Green Apple
I am entering this card into the following challenges:

I really need to catch up on my DT responsibilities for Wags 'n Whiskers.
The challenge is Paper Piecing.
I really like paper piecing.  I just don't do it often enough.  Go check out the blog for some cool eye candy and link up your card!

top of the Wags 'n Whiskers blog.
One lucky participant will win a free Wags ‘n Whiskers Rubber Stamp!

You don’t have to use a Wags ‘n Whiskers image on your card, but if you do, you will be entered into a 2nd drawing for a free Wags ‘n Whiskers Digi!
This card uses W&W Let's Go Team.  I stamped her onto watercolor paper and colored her skin, hair and shoes with Twinkling H2Os.  Her dress is and socks are paper pieced with some cute paper from MME Magnolia.
I added some Flower Soft in poppy red on her pom-poms for some added dimension.
Other card details:

Wags and Whiskers Challenge 113: Sparkle

A new Wags 'n Whiskers Challenge is up.  Go check it out!
If you came here from there - Welcome!  If you still need to check it out - please don't go yet!  Check out my card first! :-)
This challenge is called Sparkle - use bling or glitter.

This is a digi stamp called Furry Friends (it is also available as a rubber stamp).  Aren't they just fabulous???  Seriously Sassy...those animals!  They are ready to par-tay!
I printed the digi onto watercolor paper and colored with Twinkling H2Os.
I Hate Glitter ironic glitter t-shirt I would want this shirt if I didn't hate pink. ha!
I hate glitter.  I mean I really hate glitter.  I would wear the above shirt - except for the fact that I don't really wear pink.
Glitter glue, like Stickles, I do  not mind.  You do not get that kind of glitter all over your face...but regular glitter? Nope.
Yet - I really like this method of glitter paper in the the background.
I made it using strong tape (Scor-tape) and glitter on SU Pretty in Pink.  Really easy.
The stinkin' glitter still got everywhere.  I instantly regretted it...but I still would do this method again.  I obviously have issues.
 Other card details:
Base: SU Rose Red
DP: MME Magnolia
Bling: Joann's
I printed the "You are Fabulous" Sentiment onto SU Whisper White.
I am also entering this card into the following challenges:
Challenges 4 Everybody: Anything Goes
Word Art Wednesday: Anything Goes
Chocolate, Coffee and Cards: Anything Goes
C is for Challenge: Make it Sparkle
The ABC Challenge: V is for Very Cute

Fairy Cute

I will never tire of the The Greeting Farm stamps.  They are super cute!  Flutter Anya is really one of my favorites.  She looks like a cute little butterfly fairy.  I use her a lot because she can be used for so many different occasions.  This a card I made for a friend:
Flutter Anya (which I bought from Stamp and Create) is embossed onto watercolor paper and colored in with Twinkling H2Os.
Aren't these some super bright colors?  These are some paper I have had for years upon years.  I do not even know where they come from.  They were in my stash of papers with no home.
The base pink color is PTI Raspberry Fizz.  The flowers are Primas that I have had forever as well.  It's so funny how long us paper crafters can actually hoard our supplies.  I have had stuff in my collection for over 10 years.  I have given away a lot too, but still...we all have issues don't we? :-)
I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Anyone for Anya: Embossing Like a Boss
Make it Monday: Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday: Fairy Nice
Tuesday Throwdown: Things with Wings
The Crafter's Cafe: Flowers

Super Boss

I work at a really awesome place, with some really awesome people.  Our boss/director is one of those awesome people.  She was a friend before she became my boss.
She recently had a birthday, us teachers always go in with some money for a gift card (she likes to shop and always looks fabulous), a sweet treat and a card.
So this was the card that I made:
This is the stamp Super Mom by Kenny K for Whimsy Stamps.  She is rockin'!  I adore this image.  She personifies power.  I wonder what Kenny's inspiration was when he drew this image.
I don't usually make big cards.  I like to stick with the A2 size.  This one was going to be signed by quite a few people so I needed to make it bigger.  I know some people usually make the 6x6 cards, but in the effort of paper conservation, and because I didn't have a 12 x 12 size cardstock of the base color - this card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2.
I stamped her onto watercolor paper and colored her with Twinkling H2Os.
Other card details:
Base: SU Riding Hood Red
DP: Those beautiful Fall colored DP is from SU called Polka Dot Parade.  It makes it look like it's from a comic book.
Other Stamps: "You're Fantastic - TGF Amazing Duo (which I bought from Stamp and Create); Inside Sentiment - PTI:Inside and Out Birthday
The star burst is cut with the Silhouette.
Twine: The Twinery Maraschino
Jewels: Queen & Co.
The above and below pic show where I paper pieced the apron.
The inside I had to leave pretty blank because of all the people that still had to sign..
I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards: Layout
Make it Monday: Always Anything Goes
Kenny K's Krafty Krew: Colors of Fall
Top Tip Tuesday: Paper Piecing - the apron

Bridal Shower Favors Part 4: Mickey and Minnie

I think it's about time that I share the last bridal shower favor huh?  I left it for last because it's my favorite but I didn't plan on leaving it out this long.  :-)
Of course Pinterest is a wealth of ideas.  It is awesome how many crafty and inspirational things you can find out there in the virtual world.  I had found these cute bags, and these cute bags, and this Mickey and Minnie silhouette and made this:
What do you think?  We put M&M's in there.  Get it? M-ickey & M-innie?  M&M?
The little bags and ribbon were bought at AC Moore.  I know I have seen them in Joann's and Michael's too.
The Mickey/Minnie silhouettes and Minnie bows are cut with my Cricut.
You can see in the pic above that the black cardstock was textured.
If you can see in the pic below, I also ran the bows in the Swiss dots impression folder with the Cuttlebug.

I used the silhouette clip art and made the labels in the bag and cut them out.

I wished I had taken pictures of all the table decorations some people made for her.
They were stunning.
I also made the cake.  See below:
The pic above was taken without flash and the one below was taken with flash.
What do you think?  Not bad huh?

This is Lacey Fairy!  Isn't she just B-E-A-U-tiful!  She is named after my friend, Lacey, who is co-owner of Wags 'n Whiskers.  I always thought this stamp was cute but after I inked her up, I liked it even more.
She is stamped onto watercolor paper and colored with Twinkling H2O's.
I also really, really like the paper!  It is new from Stampin' Up called Eastern Elegance.  I am loving the colors.  I also really, really like the new In-Colors for SU.

Cheeky Monkey

Hey there!  Glad to "see" you.  Thank you for stopping by to visit!  Please consider following my blog.  There are a number of ways you can follow on the left side.  I use Feedly.  I like the layout and user friendliness of it.  The only problem is that I don't know if a blogger knows I am following them through Feedly or if you are following me.
I have Googled the question but I haven't found anything yet.  Do you know?
Anyway, onto my card.
I was trying something new.  I am not entirely sure if I truly like it.  I think it has interesting elements individually but I am not fully convinced yet.  :-)
In the picture above, I kept it dark so you can see the shadowing I did on the tree.  The tree is from an embossing folder called Leafy Tree from Darice.  I used chalk to bring out the details of the embossing.  Then I embossed Cheeky Sean from High Hopes (Dustin Pike) onto it and watercolored with Twinkling H2Os.
In the pic below, I took it with flash so you can see the embossing and the glaze I used on the teeth.  I tried to match the stamp with the branch of the tree.  I did ok on that part.
 Other card details:
Base: PTI Pinefeather
Other paper: SU Chocolate Chip
Feliz Cumpleanos Stamp: SU Felicidades Siempre

The bird I made from Mod Podge Melts.  It's pretty easy.  I painted it with acrylic paints.  While it was just melted, I added a generic brad to it.
I am entering this card into the following challenges:
High Hopes: Anything Goes
Word Art Wednesday: Anything Goes with a Sentiment
Through the Craftroom Door: Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp: Anything Goes
